Bryan Health * Bryan Health Wahoo, NE Nursing Full-time, Day shift Req # 19476 SUMMARY The Advanced Practitioner provides specialized care for patients with Multiple Sclerosis or makes appropriate referrals for patients after evaluation. Diagnoses medical conditions, plans and implements interventions and evaluates patient responses to treatment. Provides direct patient care and performs medical diagnostic, therapeutic and management functions appropriately. Will provide patient services that include but are not limited to Botox treatments for muscle spasticity and migraines and management of Baclofen pumps. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Attends Medical Staff meetings and networks with all members of the Medical Staff team. Desire to work within a comprehensive health care team. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with team members about individual patient findings or concerns and about program improvement issues. Assesses patients’ risk factors that are modifiable and demonstrates ability to offer support and strategies to aid patient in successful therapeutic lifestyle changes. Keeps current in the field of multiple sclerosis through journals, inservices and conferences. Establish good relationships with all collaborative neurologists and providers and their respective groups. Actively promote and grow the multiple sclerosis clinic. Practice the proper fire, safety and disaster procedures as set forth by SMC. Participate in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department. Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times and report violations to the Privacy Officer. Responsible for following Saunders Medical Center policies pertaining to the release of information. Understand and comply with the requirements of the Saunders Medical Center’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, all Saunders Medical Center-wide policies for compliance, and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities. Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Saunders Medical Center policy and as requested by the CEO and CMO. Demonstrate personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation and energy; team orientation; professionalism; trust; personal honesty and integrity; and a demonstration of placing others in a place of high value and treating them with dignity and respect. QUALIFICATIONS: Will hold a current and unrestricted license to practice nursing in the state of Nebraska as well as an APRN certification. MS Certified and DNP required. Will hold and maintain an unrestricted DEA registration necessary to prescribe controlled substances and any other prescription medications commonly prescribed by nurse practitioners. Will have a registered NPI number. Will maintain current CPR certification. Five (5) years preferred; Require Three (3) years of clinical experience in MS clinic. Medical Staff Status: Will hold Affiliate Staff privileges. Medicare/Medicaid Eligibility and Participation: Be eligible to provide and receive reimbursement for covered Medicare and Medicaid services. Payors: Qualify and provide services under plans sponsored by such insurers, preferred provider organizations, health maintenance organizations or similar managed care organizations. CME: Maintain continuing medical education hours required by APRN certification and nursing license.
