About the job
Responsible for initiating and following up prior authorizations for multiple dermatology services, including but not limited to procedures below:
1- Excimer, phototherapy, allergy patch testing, Blue-U, and iontophoresis.
2- Botox for hyperhidrosis.
3- Biologics: initiate and follow up with pharmacy, co-ordinate with patients and consent them, update providers and schedule patients for their injections.
4- Cosmetic services coverage when patients want to explore that option.
5- Covermymeds: initiate PA over the phones, coordinate between pharmacy and patients, in case of denials this person will reach out to providers to get altenatives.
6- Issue and communicate medical necessity letters for all providers.
7- Documents PA approvals and denials.
8- Coordinate with billing the denial work flow and update management.
Requirements (qualifications, skills and experience):
2+ Years of Medical Billing experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be well organized and possess a strong attention to detail
Demonstrate excellent research, problem solving, and follow up skills
NextGen experience is a plus
