About the job
We are looking for a Part-Time Registered Nurse (at least 1-2 yrs experience) to join our dynamic team and help provide outstanding care for plastics, bariatrics and general surgery patients. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with navigating through 4 to 5 software applications (tech savvy), illustrate a strong attention to detail, work in a fast-paced environment and effectively coordinate the designated treatment plan outlined by our physician. In addition, the candidate must have a cool-tempered personality and possess excellent problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

Perform Patient Intake
Assist with FMLA & Short Term Disability forms
Complete Medical Record Requests
Order labs, Imaging studies, diagnostic tests and perform plastic consults
Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
Collaborate with physician and to devise individualized care plans for patients
Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, clean instruments, clean sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
Answers patient calls in a timely fashion
Provide instant medical care in emergencies
Perform Botox injections and fillers
Assume Medical Assistant (MA) role if MA is not present
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
Be able to perform blood draws, change dressings, place IVs, remove staples and drains
In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Call patients after procedures and discharge
Updating patients on results of labs, images and diagnostic tests
Give injections (flu shots, Vitamin B12, Lovenox shots) and infusions
Be available for 12hr shifts on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (at least 2-3 Saturdays out of a month
Manage medical inventory and order supplies
Assist with Pre-Operative and Post-Operative appointments
Help maintain cleanliness/organization of patient and storage rooms
Assist with charting clinical notes and monitor vitals during in office procedures
Communicate effectively with all levels of management and front office staff
Current Registered Nurse License within Indiana

Qualifications

Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
Familiarity with medical software and equipment
Ability to build rapport with patients
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
